Frequently Asked Questions
Do you have knee pain? Hip pain? A chronic sore back or shoulder pain? Or do you simply want better mobility? All these problems, and more, can be addressed and resolved. Hello, my name is Craig Strickland and I’d like to share answers to several of the frequently asked questions that we get about the treatments and solutions offered here at the clinic. You can also watch my video above. Call us any time to set up a free consult if you think our services might be right for your situation. Our number is (843) 249-9787.
Are the treatments at Carolina Rehab and Physical Medicine Center painful?
Very. Just kidding. The vast majority of our patients would say, no to minimal discomfort. If anything, typically nothing more than slight soreness at the injection site. Watch the testimonials on our Success Story page and you can hear directly from existing patients about what it is like receiving services here.
Are treatments safe?
Absolutely. They’re safe, and not only are they safe, but they’re extremely effective.
We have many treatments available for our patients. Some are as basic as proper rehab exercises, others are the latest Rejuvinative Therapies using human allografts derived from umbilical cord tissues. We also use PRP, or Platelet Rich Plasma, which is contained in your own blood and initiates the healing process. The allografts are immune privileged tissues, meaning we can inject them without any negative antigenic (immune) response. An orthopedic surgeon once told me these allografts are “the medicine of the divine.” I can’t attest to that but I will say we have seen miraculous outcomes using them.
Will there be any downtime?
This is a huge question. It is a concern for most of our patients. The fact of the matter is, we have very little downtime associated with our procedures. From a day or two to a few weeks at most for most treatments. Compare this to some of the more invasive surgical procedures at other facilities and it isn’t even close. Some of those treatments may have recovery times of up to a year.
What do you work on at Carolina Rehab and Physical Medicine Center?
Well, as I mentioned on other pages of our website and in our videos, we work on the entire body. Whether its headaches, neck pain, shoulder issues, elbow problems, lower back problems, hip or knee issues. We can address just about any body or joint pain.
You’ve been told you need surgery or a joint replacement. Can you offer an alternative?
We can do wonderful things with those situations. Often patients come to us having been told their only option is an invasive surgery or joint replacement. Our protocols including rehabilitative exercises, physical medicine protocols, Rejuvinative Therapies and chiropractic have given many patients the ability to delay or in many instances avoid these surgeries all together. The key is to treat the dysfunction and improve overall movement and allow the body to heal.
Can you fix me when everyone else has said they can, but they haven’t been able to?
This is a great question and one that we love to be asked. Again, the reason why we are so successful with our protocols is because we addressed the entire patient, the entire person. You are one unit, you are one you, and you can have a dysfunction or a problem in one area that causes pain in another. You have to address the source of the problem. That’s what we do. We find the sources is the issue you are having, fix that, and the body aches and pains resolve.
How long is it going to be before I’m better?
We have many patients that are back to living life and enjoying themselves in a matter of just a couple of weeks. For some examples, if you come to us for knee pain, it can be a hip or low back issue… or for heel or foot pain, it may actually be a problem in your calf… it might be a muscular imbalance in your chest and shoulder that is causing the numbness in your hand … The time it takes to resolve the issue is directly related to your unique condition. But rest assured, time after time, we find our patients get well faster and with less pain than most other more invasive surgeries and treatments. However, if for some reason, we don’t think you are a good candidate for our services, we will happily refer you to another provider.
Those are some of the most common questions that were asked. I hope that helps you to understand what we do and how we are different. If you have any other questions or wonder if you are a candidate for our services, please don’t hesitate to contact us or stop by. We’re right here in Little River.
Sincerely,
Craig
